LEGAL REGULATORY ASPECTS OF LAND MONITORING IN UKRAINE

Abstract

The natural and resource potential of Ukraine is represented by a wide range of land, water and biological resources. Land resources of Ukraine is one of the important environmental and economic assets of the state. It is a reliable basis for the country's socioeconomic development. The use of land is associated with significant problems that have arisen because of a violation of ecological balance and the imbalance between districts of arable lands, natural lands, forest and water resources. The state of land use in Ukraine is very critical; further degradation of the natural potential of land resources can have catastrophic consequences. The study of the technogenic pollution of lands, the conservation of degraded and unproductive lands and the economic stimulation of rational land use are important issues. It contributes to the development and improvement of state lands monitoring; whose results are important in management decisions making on the rational land use. The formation of balanced nature management is possible with an integrated approach to assessing the intensity of natural and economic land use. The aim of our research is the study of the intensity of natural and economic land use based on the environmental assessment and determination key points of its effective monitoring. The objectives of our study are: (1) the study of the state of land use in Ukraine; (2) the analysis of the intensity of land use; (3) the description of the legal framework for land monitoring in Ukraine. A systemic approach has been used during the study.
