Legends about the Qur’an in the works of the Karabakh writers of the XIX century

Abstract
Karabakh writers of the XIX century extensively used the religious images in their works. This is due, on the one hand, to the religious education they received, and on the other hand, to the need to express Sufi-mystical reflections. Religious personalities, such as Joseph, Khizir, Jesus, Job, Moses and other religious images are often found in their works. Karabakh writers also used the image of a doctor, called “Logman” in the poetic Sufi legends. They had also described the ascent of the Prophet Muhammad to the Almighty: this topic was included in their art as well. The members of the “Mejlisi-uns” and “Mejlisi-Feramush” poetic circles were able to show the socio-political contradictions of their era in their religious stories. At the same time, many religious figures were represented as passionate worshippers who longed to unite with the Almighty.
