Leitura e análise diplomática do Livro Tombo da Catedral Diocesana de Santa Maria

Abstract
This work is defined as a quantitative descriptive research, because it analyses the characteristics of a study object, the Registry Book (Livro Tombo). The Registry Book number III from the Diocesan Cathedral of Santa Maria was intentionally chosen as the sampling plan just because it covers the period from the creation date of the city Diocese (1910). From the sample we can achieve the research goal: to find out whether there are rules for annotations in Registry Books or not. The book analysis was made using a table containing pre-compound topics regarding the analytical partition. The data analysis was performed using graphics to make the visualization easier. Beyond that, the study presents the history of the Catholic religion in Santa Maria (1777-1912), built with the data extracted from the analyzed Registry Book, which information are of confidential nature available only for researchers.
