Abstract

Liber amicitiae (album amicorum) is the book where the friends sign in. Usually, the signature is accompanied by a dedication to the owner of the book an a quotation from the Bible or from the Greeks or Latin classics or recently from the contemporary poets. Liber amicitiae, the book with memories, has its origin in the 16th century but it is still continued in nowadays mainly by the highschool graduates. The Brukenthal Library in Sibiu owns at the mark number V I 723–725, a book printed in the 16th century that belonged to a former student at the University in Wittenberg (1571–1573) named Johannes Cerasinus Bistricensis. Our work wants to reconstitute, having as a ground the notes in hand writing that are to be found in the book, the list of the students in theology in Wittenberg in the second half of the 16th century, namely between 1571–1573, with a stress upon the students from Transylvania.
