LIGHT INFLUENCE ON SUCCINATE DEHYDROGENASE ACTIVITY IN
MAIZE LEAVES
Journal Title: Журнал ÑтреÑÑ-физиологии и биохимии - Year 2005, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
Photosynthesis and respiration participates in energy production by plants undo different light conditions. It looks quite important to provide a balanced regulation of these processes. It was show in presented study that succinate dehydrogenase activity drops down in intact leaves undo intensive light/ There is no direct influence of light to purified enzyme. It was found that low concentrations of ATP (2 - 5 mkM) activated succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) but concentration more than 30 mkM inhibit it. Presented data supports idea that enzyme regulation is provided by oscillations of cell metabolites concentrations.

Water Status and Protein Pattern Changes Towards Salt Stress in Cotton
A pot experiment was conducted to evaluate performance of four upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) varieties, Deir-Ezzor22 (DE22), Niab78 (N78), Aleppo118 (A118) and Deltapine50 (DP50) grown under non-saline conditions...
Diurnal variations in gas exchange and chlorophyll fluorescence in rice leaves: the cause for midday depression in CO2 photosynthetic rate
Gas exchange and chlorophyll fluorescence analysis were carried out to investigate the diurnal variations in photosynthesis in leaves of rice (Oryza sativa L.). Leaf CO[sub]2[/sub] photosynthetic rate (Pn) showed a bimod...
Antigen Specific Immune Responses In Mice Subjected To Infrared Heat Stress
Short exposures to infrared heat are generally used to facilitate tail-vein bleeding of experimental mice as an alternative to retro-orbital bleeding for the purpose of obtaining serum samples. Altered temperatures have...
Studies on the impact of fluoride toxicity on germination and seedling growth of gram seed (Cicer arietinum L. cv. Anuradha)
The influence of 0, 0.1 mM, 0.5 mM, 1.0 mM, 4.0 mM, 8.0 mM fluoride (F) concentration on seed germination, seedling growth of gram seeds (cv. Anuradha) was studied under laboratory condition. At the end of 15 days of tre...
