LINGUISTIC APPROACHES TO THE STUDY OF SOCIOCULTURAL VALUES IN THE CONTEXT OF CONTEMPORARY CHALLENGES (ANALYTICAL REVIEW)

Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of linguistic approaches used at the present stage in the theoretical understanding and practical research of sociocultural values. The methodological approach of the analysis is based on the integration of narrative, systematic reviews and other relevant methodological criteria. Diachronic analysis of the lexeme “values” with the help of the corpus linguistics tool – Google Books Ngram Viewer online service, which allows studying the dynamic behavior of a given lexeme in time. The data obtained as a result of diachronic analysis allow us to assert an objective relationship between the frequency of use of the lexeme “values” and global, regional and national historical processes. A number of directions of axiologically oriented linguistics are considered. According to the results, an analytical review of the most significant and relevant approaches and concepts currently used to study the value component in language is presented. The methodological possibilities of ethno- and psycholinguistics, discursology, sociolinguistics, linguoculturology are studied on the material of studies of domestic and foreign scientists. The general and specific features of the mentioned approaches are established. Some results of the development of axiological problems in linguistics are summarized and promising tasks of further linguo-axiological research are defined.
