Journal Title: Technika Transportu Szynowego - Year 2018, Vol 289, Issue 5

Abstract

The Green Line of the Budapest underground was commissioned at the end of March 2014 and the connection of the Kelenföld and the Keleti railway station was built with the Danube underground tunnel. It is planned to build the sections in both directions, i.e. the current fragment (~ 7 km) is to become the central section. Additionally, two sections will be built in the east and one in the west direction. The Green Line is full automatic and the rolling stock – the Metropolis trains were produced by Alstom. The construction of the line was accompanied by numerous controversies, including low transparency of tender procedures, attempts to cancel the rolling stock contract, etc.
