Lithology and uses of continental and marine deposits the eastern part of the Krivoy Rog basin
Journal Title: Geologia i poleznye iskopaemye mirovogo okeana - Year 2018, Vol 14, Issue 1
Abstract
Specific features of lithology of the Cenozoic sedimentary deposits in the eastern side of the Krivoy Rog iron ore basin, their origin and directions of complex use. Obtained new data on mineral composition of sedimentary rocks in situ and impounded in the dumps. Built geologicallithologic section, stratigraphic column of the area, made the correlation of sedimentary rocks between Cresivske and MarieDmitrivske fields. Found the dependence of the power and composition of sedimentary rocks from the nature of the relief Precambrian basement. The results of technological tests indicate the possibility of costeffective enrichment and complex use of rocks weathering of Precambrian granites and migmatites with production of kaolinite, quartz and zircon industrial concentrates.
