Abstract
The article, “Lithuanian Pension System”: reviews the historical evolution of pension systems; analyses the system of pension wel fare and the structural reform of Lithuanian social insurance retirement benefits, during which a part of social insurance contributions is transferable to private pension funds chosen by people; compares the reform of retirement benefits in Lithuani a with reforms in other countries. The article is bas d on publications of well known worldwide researchers of pension economics, legislation of the Republic of Lithuania regulating the reform of retirement benefits, economic and social statistics published by Lithuanian authorities.
