Local infiltration with corticosteroid for the finger in trigger

Abstract
Introduction: Trigger finger is a condition that frequently occurs in the orthopedic consultation and it is an involvement of the fingers, where it gets stuck in a flexion position, with a greater incidence in the thumb, followed by the ring finger of the dominant hand. An option in treatment to improve function and pain is infiltration with anti-inflammatories Objective: To identify the conditions to obtain a therapeutic success with corticosteroid injections in patients with trigger finger. Materials and Methods: A bibliographic review is carried out and databases are consulted. such as Google Scholar and Pubmed, later a systematic analysis of the sources and the results found are evidenced. Results: the articles found, two were not considered because they included only surgical treatment as treatment. on the other hand, the articles that registered the treatment with local infiltration showed a Significant improvement in symptoms even with single infiltration. Conclusions: The choice of local infiltration is a therapeutic option to recover the function of the finger in spring; however, surgery is an alternative that should be considered in certain patient groups
