LOCATION AND THE ROLE OF SMALL ENTERPRISE IN THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE REGION

Abstract
The issue of stimulating and supporting the activities of small business enterprises in modern conditions is one of the main directions of socio-economic growth of Ukraine as a whole and its separate regions. Effective functioning of the economy, including the regions, is impossible without small business, whose role is not only in filling market niches that are not covered by a large business but also within the framework of addressing the issues of the socio-economic development of territories, mitigating social tension, growth the number of middle class. The purpose of the article is to consider the defining apparatus and to specify the content of concepts of “small business”, “institute”, “institutional environment of small business” on the basis of modern institutionalism. The significance and role of institutions in the development of entrepreneurship are practically not marked. The institutional aspect of the small business is one of the few processes studied. The following issues remain unclear: how are the social and economic institutions of entrepreneurship interlinked, and whether one can speak in general about the institute of entrepreneurship. The article deals with the definition of small business in the context of its role in the development of the modern economy of the regions.
