LOCUS CONTROL AS A MECHANISM FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF FUTURE TEACHERS’ SELF-REGULATION

Abstract
The article shows the results of the theoretical and empirical research of locus control as a mechanism for the development of future teacher's self-regulation. The essence of the locus control was analyzed from the point of view of the theory of social and cognitive learning. The following central characteristics of it were defined: independence, autonomy, activity of the individual in achieving their goals, a sense of their own responsibility for actions in difficult and extreme situations. The article presents the description of the results of the empirical research devoted to the study of the state of future teachers' locus control development - bachelor students. The correlation between the external and internal locus control of the students under investigation was determined and the main research scales were identified. The study highlights the key perspective directions of the research of student's personality locus control at different stages of their professional training.
