Łotwa w polskiej świadomości historycznej

Abstract
Culture and history of Latvia is present in research works of Polish historians and literary experts. Historiographic texts as well as literary images of the life of the community show that many cultures: Livs, Latvians, Germans, Jews, Poles, Russians, Lithuanians, Estonians and Belarussians had a major impact on the history of the region. Many Poles were born and died in Latvia. Many members of the popular uprisings tried to find a shelter in here, as well as those who escaped from Poland in 1939 in the face of Russian aggression. The most successful cooperation with a politico-military dimension between Poland and Latvia falls within the interwar period. Economic and cultural links were also appreciated then. After 1989 Latvia and Poland found themselves in a new geopolitical situation.
