LOW POWER GENERATING SYSTEM, SIMULATION AND ANALYSIS
Journal Title: ANALELE UNIVERSITATII DIN CRAIOVA - Seria Inginerie electrica - Year 2010, Vol 34, Issue 34
Abstract
Most distributed generating systems (DG) are not new in a technological respect, they are receiving increased attention today because of their ability to provide backup power, improved power quality, and ancillary services to the power grid. This paper presents a simulation and a rigorous analysis for low power distribution 5 kW using specialized electric and electronic simulation software. Most important part of the paper presents the simulation of power electronics that are able to convert the power generated into useful power that can be directly interconnected with the utility grid and/or can be used for consumer applications. One presents specific matters related to the simulation of an AC-DC-AC converter and respectively of a filtering coil for the ripple appearing in the output current of the PWM inverter. Significant aspects with respect to the behavior of the simulated components for various loads are revealed. A PSpice model of the entire DG system was conceived in order to simulate the waveforms for voltages and currents. One emphasizes the good agreement with the IEEE standard 1547/2003, used for the interconnecting distributed resources with electric power systems.

Technical Aspects Regarding Electromagnetic Compatibility Compliance of the Electric and Electronic Integrated Systems
The modern world’s needs of electric and electronic devices and systems lead to a continuously electromagnetic interferences growing in ways that were hard to predict few decades ago, a serious reason to consider the ele...
Continuous Monitoring and SCADA Integration of the Sag of Overhead Electricity Transmission Cables Based on the Measurement of their Slope
This paper presents a proposed system for the continuous monitoring of conductor sag values in overhead electricity transmission lines through slope angle measurement, by using a mathematical model based on the catenary...
CALCULATION OF POWER TRANSFORMERS HEALTH INDEXES
In order to prevent possible defects of power transformers and to avoid losses which occur after taking them out of service, it is important to know the state of their insulation systems. For this purpose, health index i...
Considerations Relating to the Effectiveness of the Float Installed Inside the Conservatory of Oil to Electrical Power Transformers
Protection of the electroinsulating oil against oxidation, constitutes one aspect investigated to increase safety in the operation of the electric power transformers. Oxidation is a chemical reaction between transformer...
Comparison of the Conservative Power Theory (CPT) with Budeanu’s Power Theory
It is shown in this paper that the Conservative Power Theory (CPT) describes power properties of electrical circuits in a way which has a strong analogy to this description in terms of Budeanu’s power theory which misint...
