Macroeconomic factors of influence on professional career development of vet institutions students

Abstract

An important aspect of the vocational education system (VET) reform is the specialists training who will be able to rationally plan and implement their own professional career in accordance with personal needs and current society demands. Among the factors of influence on the professional career development the key factor is the macroeconomic factor, which act at both levels: the state and institutional. The key factors of the institutional level are condition of VET functioning, the peculiarities of the domestic enterprises activity and organizations, and the specificity of their relations.The negative state-level factors include the following: problems associated with the denationalization of enterprises which determined not always positive changes inthe relations between workers; powerful dispersal movements associated with high unemployment level and the presence of a significant number of internally displaced persons; the outdated labour market structure, its inability to respond timely to innovative economic trends; prevalence of demand for low-qualified work; insufficient level of structural mobility of factory personnel. The negative factors of the institutional level are, on the one hand – VET condition and separate educational institution and on the other – enterprises and organizations. The negative factors which powerful influence on awareness of young people's professional careers in VET are: decrease in enrolment in VET; increase in the number of ineffective small institution; insufficient professional orientation of general subjects teaching; inconsistency of thecompetence level of vocational schools graduates to modern labour market requirements, employers discontent with the workforce quality.
