Magnetic properties of electroless nickel-phosphorus coated multi-walled carbon nanotubes.
Journal Title: Carbon - Science and Technology - Year 2008, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
Nickel-phosphorus (EN) deposited multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were prepared using an electroless plating technique. The D.C and A.C magnetic behavior of the composites showed that pre-acid treatment of the MWCNTs prior to electroless deposition greatly enhanced the magnetic susceptibility at 5oK producing a composite with antiferromagnetic correlations and a superparamagnetic transition at 65.5 K. Raman scattering analysis suggests that there is no direct interaction of the nickel-phosphorus deposit and the MWCNTs.

Sustainable treatment potential of mixed algal consortia for domestic waste water: Growth and mixotropy
The increasing levels of generation of nutrient-rich waste water pose serious challenge. Conventional biological and chemical methods of waste water treatment have failed in meeting sustainability challenges. Naturally o...
Pyrolytic carbon film deposit as an electrochemical interface
A pyrolytic carbon (PC) film was grown on planar substrate (graphite rods) by chemical vapor deposition from gaseous feed of methane using a vertical hot-wall deposition reactor. Scanning electron microscopy was used to...
The Efficacy of Biogas to Protect Stored Grains from Insect Pests
Stored grains such as rice and wheat (and other grains/pulses) are prone to pest infestation mainly by Sitophilus oryzae, Tribolium castaneum and Rhyzopertha dominica in India and more than 30 % of harvested grain is los...
Process parameters optimization for synthesis of methyl ester from sunflower oil using Taguchi technique
In this work, transesterification of sunflower oil for obtaining biodiesel was studied. Taguchi’s methodology (L9 orthogonal array) was selected to optimize the most significant variables (methanol, catalyst concentratio...
Analysis of composite leaf spring enhanced with nanoparticles
Weight reduction is now the main issue in automobile industries. In this work due to reduce the weight of steel spring with composite leaf spring due to high strength ratio is need to improve. The main aim is to compare...
