Abstract
The meaning of Paul words “to live is Christ and to die is gain” based on Philippi 1:12-26, shows that the suffering of faith through the good news of the gospel is capable of inspiring others to boast in Christ. The progress of the gospel is not determined by any circumstances or anyone’s motivation because what the Lord has opened, no man can ever shut. The good news of the gospel produces joy for two sides. The joy that is meant has its source only in Christ. Any difficulty in life that a believer experiences will not make him fall away from the Lord, moreover the suffering for the sake of Christ makes him boast in the Lord. True knowledge of the Lord will lead his life to prioritise Christ so that any trouble he faces will be able to make him to continue to live in the joy and hope in the Lord.
