Journal Title: Journal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research - Year 2018, Vol 12, Issue 4

Abstract

ABSTRACT Mammary Analogue Secretory Carcinoma (MASC) is a rare salivary gland tumour. It clinically presents as a painless mass in the parotid gland affecting mainly males. A 17-year-old male presented with 18 month history of a painless swelling of left parotid region. Physical examination showed a 3×3 cm, firm, non tender mass in the left parotid region. FNAC diagnosis of mucoepidermoid carcinoma was made. Final diagnosis of MASC was made on the basis of characteristic histopathology and immunohistochemistry. This tumour is considered as a low-grade carcinoma with a potential for high-grade transformation.
