Management strategies for non-governmental organizations

Abstract
The paper is devoted to the non-governmental sector, which is also called the third sector. The main goal of the article is to present the management strategies of Polish non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The first part of the paper encompasses a presentation of the essence and nature of the functioning of NGOs. Subsequently, the strategic background of the functioning of NGOs is discussed. Mainly the factors conditioning the choice of an NGO management strategy are presented. The paper goes on to discussing the nature and role of strategy as well as formulating and implementing strategies. The last part of the paper concentrates on the research outcome concerning management strategies in non-governmental organizations operating in south-east Poland.
