Manifestações (e ausências) de pensamento crÃtico na Ciência da Informação

Abstract
This paper aims to identify the presence of critical reflections in the field of Information Science and correlated areas such as Library Science, Archival Science and Museum Studies. A historical overview of developments in these areas is carried out to show how a strictly technical and operational conception prevailed in its origins. Specific efforts to build wider questioning spaces are identified, and the consolidation of specific spaces for critical practice at present as well as critical elements incorporated into the general conceptions permeating the field are pointed out.
