MARITAL ADJUSTMENT, LIFE SATISFACTION AND QUALITY OF MARITAL LIFE-A COMPARATIVE STUDY BETWEEN WORKING AND NON-WORKING MARRIED WOMEN

Abstract
Objective: The motive of the study is to compare the marital adjustment, life satisfaction and quality of marital life between working and non-working married women. Methodology: A cross sectional study with sample of 100 married women [50 working and 50 non-working women] selected from various areas of Khammam town. The marital adjustment, life satisfaction and quality of marital life were assessed using Maritalsatisfaction scale developed by Brunda, Amrithraj and Indira Jai Prakash, Marital Quality Scale developed by Shah, Anisha and Dyadic adjustment scale developed by Spanier. Statistical analysis was done by Independent t test. Results: There is a significant difference in marital satisfaction and quality of marital life among working and non-working women.Conclusion: The findings suggest that non-working (Corresponding Author) women has more satisfied marital life than working women. In addition, working women has better quality of marital life than working women.
