Marketing analysis of the market of antibacterial drugs for treatment of acute simple bronchitis in infants

Abstract
Particular concern among pediatricians and health professionals is caused by fairly high levels of morbidity acute simple bronchitis, especially in infants. An important issue of the pharmacotherapy is ensuring patients of sufficient number of effective and affordable drugs for the treatment of this nosology. Therefore, the aim of the work was the study of the assortment of antibacterial drugs for the treatment of acute simple bronchitis in children up to 3 years in the pharmaceutical market of Ukraine. Analytical, comparative, marketing, graphical methods of analysis, and the method of descriptive and abstract modeling and synthesis were used in the study. The analysis of the State Register of medicines, according to which established that as of May 2016 in the market of Ukraine registered 237 trade names of antibacterial drugs for the treatment of acute bronchitis in children, was conducted. Among them, the largest share falls on subgroups’ drugs of ceftriaxone (27.43%), cefuroxime (18.14%), ceftazidime (10.97%) and cefotaxime (10.13%). Results of the analysis show that the domestic market of antibacterial drugs is fairly saturated mainly due to foreign-made drugs, whose share in the overall structure of the investigated range is nearly 70.00%. It was found that the antibacterial drugs was introduced in the market by 23 producing countries, and the leading are drugs the production of India, which are presented in 7 subgroups of the general number of 52 names, and Ukraine are represented in the 10 subgroups in the amount of 72 names. The analysis found that the antibacterial drugs are present in the Ukrainian market by four dosage forms among which are leading parenteral release form. However, a significant number of drugs, particularly subgroups cefoperazone, ceftriaxone, ceftazidime, cefotaxime, cefazolin have no analogs in the available children's dosage forms, which negatively affects the effectiveness of treatment of such patients.
