Measurement and Mapping of Long-Term and Continuous Electromagnetic Pollution Levels in a Selected Pilot Region

Abstract

Mobile phones, mobile devices, the number of users in our daily lives and usage times are increasing rapidly. This rapid increase in both telephone conversations, mobile internet use and mobile systems as well as the rapid and uninterrupted service of the services and the number of base stations that constitute the infrastructure of these services is increasing in proportion to the number. In order to observe this change, periodic, frequency based electromagnetic field intensity maps of electromagnetic field intensity emitted by base stations and other electromagnetic field sources in Malatya city center and nearby regions were determined with instant and long term measurements in a three year period. From 2011 to 2013, periodic measurements were taken in a period. These periodic changes were compared and the results were evaluated. In the second phase of the study, two continuous electromagnetic fields measuring station were used to observe the current electric field levels in the city center. Thus, the electromagnetic field source in the environment is determined. All values which are measured instantaneously and continuously are presented with the study.
