Measurement of social capital in Hamadan province of Iran

Abstract
The present research was accomplished with the aim of measuring social capital in Hamadan province of Iran using descriptive method survey. The tools for collecting data were questionnaire and interview. The statistical population of this research were all Hamadan province people in year 201, 384 of whom were selected by cluster sampling method. The results show that social capital is average in Hamadan province, because the mean of social capital responders has been 2.96 from 5. Also the results of this research show that a meaningful relation exists between independent variables religious commitment, anomie feeling, identity crisis, individualism, responsible operation, duration of residence in one place, place of residence (village/city),age, education with dependent variable social capital. But there is no meaningful relation between value pluralism in society, rate of using mass media, social-economical class, marriage status, gender and dependent variable social capital. Independent variables constitute 0.33 of social capital variance. The statistical methods used in this research include: distribution table, descriptive statistics, diagram pie and bar, two independent samples t- test, simple regression analysis and multiple regression analysis.
