Mechanical properties of furniture self-locking joints extending along the length

Abstract

Mechanical properties of furniture self-locking joints extending along the length. The aim of this paper is to determine the mechanical properties of furniture self-locking joints extending along the length. The test pieces were made of plywood, thickness 12 mm. We researched influence of the shape and dimensions of the contact surface of the joint. Mechanical properties of joints were identified by four-point bending stresses parallel to the plane of the test specimen. The stress caused the joint was loaded with bending moment. The results were compared with the strength of the joint extended by mechanical fasteners and adhesive joints. Keywords:
