Medical Image Compression UsingBiorthogonal Spline Wavelet With Different Decomposition
Journal Title: International Journal on Computer Science and Engineering - Year 2010, Vol 2, Issue 9
Abstract
With extensive digitization of data and increasing use of telemedicine, most of image data in hospitals are stored in digital form using picture archiving and communication ystems. The need for data storage and bandwidth quirements is increasing and lossy compression techniques have become a necessity. The successful use of the wavelet transform in the field of image compression has been extensively studied in iterature. In this paper we investigate the performance of iorthogonal spline wavelet as an effective mode for medical mage compression.
