Mentoring: A Case Study of an Intervention for Academic Growth

Abstract

Mentoring is a powerful tool for personal development. It is a highly acclaimed process of individual development in post graduate education and corporate development in industries. It is an effective way of helping people to progress in their careers and is becoming increasingly popular as its potential is being realized in promoting academic growth. Mentoring partnership, especially is between two people (mentor and mentee) normally working in a similar field or area of expertise. It is a relationship based up on mutual trust and respect (www.mentorset.org, 2016). This case study is an attempt to understand the mentoring process in detail as an intervention and its role in academic growth. The case would also identify the problems faced and analyze the same to assign key performance indicators to boost organizational performance.
