Metaphoric innovations in the modern computer lexis

Abstract

The article deals with the metaphor as one of the leading mechanisms of semantic derivation in the English computer lexis. The following source domains are being studied: «food», «military profession», «religion», «health care» and others. These source domains have contributed a significant amount of new words and expressions to the computer lexis.
