METHOD OF ADAPTIVE UTILIZATION OF UNLICENSED RADIO RESOURCES BY MULTIPLE LTE NETWORK OPERATORS

Abstract
In this paper, a new method of adaptive utilization of unlicensed spectrum is proposed. The key novelty of the proposed method is that it allows the effective utilization of unlicensed spectrum by multiple mobile network operators. This is achieved by using the combined model based on cooperative game theory and Markov chain. Proposed model estimates the amount of spectrum needed by each mobile network operator by calculation of their contribution to the aggregated payoff based on the Shapley value. This feature prevents operators from selfish behavior and forces them to fairly utilize the unlicensed band. Simulation results show that all competing operators achieve better performance with the proposed method, comparing to conventional spectrum sharing solutions.
