Abstract
The article describes the outstanding linguistic and didactic work of Professor Richelieu Lyceum Anton Piller «Methode courte, facile et pratique de lingue italienne» (1826), which became the basis for subsequent tutorials on Italian language, published in Russian Empire. We present sections on Italian diphthongs, consonants, use of articles with nouns, translated from French into Russian.
