Methodology of modeling the geodesic dome in Autodesk Revit and transfering models to Lira-Sapr

Abstract
For active implementation of geodesic domes and shells in design and construction practice, it is necessary to develop a methodology of modeling and integrated using of the geodetic dome model in architectural and structural design and strength analysis. The main task now is to ensure the process of data exchange between software packages and to automate their work: to develop ready-made software solutions or user applications for constructing geometric models of geodesic domes and shells, to transfer models into FEM-packages and to return analysis results to the BIM-environment. In this study, a solution was proposed, using the Autodesk Revit as BIM-software and the extension for visual programming Dynamo together with LIRA-SAPR. It was worked out the technique of transferring models from the Autodesk Revit to LIRA-SAPR using standard import and export tools of SAPFIR. The translator was also developed into a model text file based on Dynamo environment.
