METHODS OF CREATION OF THE INDEX OF ECONOMIC WELL-BEING AS A BASIC INDICATOR OF THE STANDARD OF LIVING

Abstract
The article discusses various approaches to assessing the quality of the population’s life. The analysis of the application of the GDP indicator for assessing the quality of life was carried out. Methods for determining GDP that are used in modern statistical practice are analysed and the advantages and disadvantages of applying this indicator are revealed. While researching, the category of economic well-being was identified as a basic characteristic of the living standard of the population. For this category, a series of methods for the creation of the index of economic well-being was considered.
