The aim of the paper wasto present and compare methods of the dental age assessmentin children. They can be divided into methods based on thetime of eruption of specific tooth groups and the onesdependent on the mineralisation process of tooth buds. A reviewof methods of the dental age assessment presents a varietyof available techniques to assess this age. Each system hasits advantages and disadvantages and therefore it is notadvisable to limit to only one method but it is recommendedto use various techniques available so as researchers would obtain repetitive measurements and calculations withina specific method.
