Micro- and nanostructuring of metal surfaces with polarized femtosecond laser pulses
Journal Title: Semiconductor Physics, Quantum Electronics and Optoelectronics - Year 2017, Vol 20, Issue 1
Abstract
Under irradiation of the surface of metals with femtosecond laser pulses, periodic surface micro- and nanostructures have been obtained. The dependence of orientation inherent to formed structures on direction of the electric field related with the incident electromagnetic wave and type of polarization of this wave has been studied. Typically these laser-induced structures are perpendicular to the electric field of incident light and have period shorter than the laser wavelength. The structures oriented in parallel to the polarization vector with a longer period have been also revealed. The dependence of surface structure formation on the initial surface defects in metal has been found.

Determination of fundamental optical constants of Zn2SnO4 films
Examined in this paper have been optical properties of polycrystalline films Zn2SnO4 deposited using the spray pyrolysis method within the range of substrate temperatures 250 °C to 450 °C in increments of 50 °C. The spec...
Clusters of nickel atoms and controlling their state in silicon lattice
The paper reports that using IR-spectroscopy technique, it has been revealed that nickel atoms in the silicon lattice are gathered in clusters, i.e., the phenomenon of self- assembly takes place. The concentration and di...
Ellipsometry of hybrid noble metal-dielectric nanostructures
Angular ellipsometric measurements of thin Ag, Cu films covered by HfO 2 protective layer were performed. The ellipsometric parameters ψ and ∆ were measured in θ = 43°...85° light incidence angle range, where ψ is the az...
Growth of silicon self-assembled nanowires by using gold-enhanced CVD technology
In spite of the fact that, a great deal of experimental research has been published, there is a lack of good understanding of silicon nanowires growth to exert control over important properties of the system, though it p...
Asymptotic dependence of Gross–Tulub polaron ground-state energy in the strong coupling region
The properties of translationally invariant polaron functional have been investigated in the region of strong and extremely strong coupling. It has been shown that the Gross–Tulub polaron functional obtained earlier usin...
