MIĘDZYPOKOLENIOWA TRANSMISJA WARTOŚCI

Abstract
A man builds his own hierarchy of values during the whole life. The hierarchy structure is impacted by environment in which the man lives, mainly: family, kindergarten, school, peer group, church, mass media as well as important or chance events that man experiences during his/her life. However, the key meaning in understanding the essence of fundamental values, respecting them and building so-called moral core is family upbringing. Both parents and other family members, especially grandparents, play essential role in this process. In this paper we present results of empirical research. The main objective was to learn the opinion of older generation representatives on the values in modern world in the context of intergenerational transmission and determining factors.
