MIGRANT SMUGGLING: METHODS, WAYS, ROUTES

Abstract

Immigration as one of the most important problems of the humanbeing history, striked to the century we live. While immigration after Cold War had a tendency to feminize, employment in off-the-books sectors and illegalization, September 11 attacks has transformed it-being a global phonemenon- to the most important problem of the nation states. Migrant smuggling is the illegal migration of people from one country to another for a certain fee. An individual who wants to overstep territorial boundaries by illegal ways needs special services. An immigrant trafficker who takes an entrepreneurial position fullfilling these special services, in order to obtain financial and other material benefits either directly or indirectly, provides illegal entry into a state, which he or she does not bear the nationality or permanent residence of this state. In this article, methods and routes of migrant smuggling will be examined.
