MINERAL COMPOSITION OF SEA PLANT OF FAMILY ZOSTERACEAE OF THE CASPIAN SEA

Abstract

The mineral composition of the sea plant Zostera marina L., which was gathered in different parts of the Northern and Middle Caspian Sea and in the techno-ecological system – the Lake Karakol (the Republic of Kazakhstan) has been studied. There has been revealed the lower concentration of metals in sea macrovegetation in comparison with the freshwater ones; it is connected with the lower bioavail-ability of microelements in sea water. Gross formulas of microelements of plants in 2009–2010 were placed in the following way: the Caspian Sea – Co = Cu > Pb > Mn = Ni > Zn > Fe; the Lake Karakol – Pb > Co > Ni = Mn > Cu > Zn > Fe.
