МІНЕРАЛЬНА ЩІЛЬНІСТЬ КІСТКОВОЇ ТКАНИНИ В УКРАЇНСЬКИХ ПАЦІЄНТІВ З ХВОРОБОЮ ПАРКІНСОНА

Abstract
Parkinson's disease (BP) is accompanied by an increased risk of osteoporosis. The aim of the study was to evaluated bone mineral density in patient with Parkinson's disease. Material and methods. 89 patients with Parkinson's disease and 89 patients of the corresponding age and gender without neurologic pathology were examined. The bone mineral density (BMD) was determined by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry. Results. BMD was significantly lower in patients with PD than in the control group at the level of the lumbar spine, the total body, femoral neck and distal forearm. BMD on the side with the predominance of clinical symptoms was significantly lower compared to the opposite side of the same patient with PD. Conclusions. Parkinson's disease is associated with a decrease in bone mineral density and an increased incidence of osteoporosis, the risk of which increases with age and weight loss.
