MINIMUM SALARIES – ONE OF THE BIGGEST SPECIES OF SOCIAL GUARANTEES

Abstract
The article deals with the minimum wage as one of the most important state social guarantees in the conditions of a market economy. It is concluded that raising the minimum wage in Ukraine is definitely an indispensable measure, since it allows to partially eliminating the present undervalued workforce of employees, and also approximates its size to international standards. In Ukraine, labour law is one of the leading branches of the law system, which is also in the process of reformation. Today, in the period of intensive preparation of Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, in addition to internal factors, it is necessary to take into account the influence of external circumstances in the form of globalization of the economy and the unification of labour legislation. The formation of our state as a constitutional one requires the revision of previous approaches to understanding the essence and legal nature of labour remuneration and issues of its state regulation, especially by setting the minimum wage. We can argue that raising the minimum wage in Ukraine is definitely an indispensable measure since it allows us to partially eliminate the existing underestimation of employees’ work and also approximates its size to international standards. In order to meet international and European standards, we need to take into account the positive global experience of its regulation. At the same time, it should be remembered that in the countries of the European Union wage systems provide for the existence of appropriate highly developed systems of organization of production, infrastructure, and social relations. They are based on different economic and national-ethnic backgrounds. Therefore, in order to be able to transfer European experience in the field of labour remuneration to our enterprises, it is necessary to have socio-legal, economic, organizational and technical conditions that are close to the world standards.
