MOBILE CRITICAL CARE COMPLEX FOR PROVIDING EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE TO THE UNDERGROUND MINE ACCIDENT VICTIMS
Journal Title: Вестник научного центра по безопасности работ в угольной промышленности - Year 2018, Vol 0, Issue 3
Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem solution of the required medical assistance timely rendering possibility ensuring to the coal mine underground accident victims. It is shown that, at the present moment, despite all related production, scientifi c and supervisory bodies special attention to the mining operation increasing safety issues, the probability of accidents is not excluded. Especially it is necessary to note the mine working explosions and fi res manifestation, which, as a rule, are often accompanied by people’s traumatization and death. The emergency medical care rendering in underground conditions is a much more diffi cult task than under similar conditions on the surface, due to the simultaneous action on the affected miner of toxic, thermal and mechanical nature damaging factors in a confi ned space, the diffi culties of access to the affected, and the presence of an atmosphere unsuitable for breathing. However, at present there are no special mobile vehicles that allow for the prompt delivery of medical personnel in emergency conditions to the location of the victims and equipped with all necessary instrumentation for the qualifi ed medical care provision. In addition, these vehicles must be adapted for the evacuation of injured miners. In view of the foregoing, the authors propose to improve the tactics of medical and evacuation support for severely injured and affected miners, bringing specialized assistance to the center of the accident (catastrophe) and creating the effective work conditions for medical of the Emergency Response Brigade (MBER) doctors. For this purpose, the experimental model of a mobile underground critical care complex equipped with life support and energy supply systems with resuscitation and emergency medical aid facilities was developed and manufactured by the personnel of RSO MANEB of Kemerovo Disaster Medicine Center and the Scientifi c Research Institute of Mine Rescue (NIIGD). The use of this complex will make it possible to carry out cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the atmosphere unfi t for breathing, to realize medical technologies for the application of oxygenated blood substitute with the gas transfer function of perfl uorane in order to correct hypoxia directly at the site of the lesion, and also during transportation of the victim from the accident site to the exit from the mine.
