Modeling of the potential coiled-coil structure of snapin protein and its interaction with SNARE complex.
Journal Title: Bioinformation - Year 2006, Vol 1, Issue 7
Abstract
Autism is a developmental disability causing learning and memory disorder. The heart of the search for a cure for this syndrome is the need to understand dendrite branch patterning, a process crucial for proper synaptic transmission. Due to the association of snapin with the SNARE complex and its role in synaptic transmission it is reported as a potential drug target for autism therapies. We wish to impart the noesis of the 3D structure of the snapin protein, and in this chase we predict the native structure from its sequence of amino acid residues using the classical Comparative protein structure modeling methods. The predicted protein model can be of great assistance in understanding the structural insights, which is necessary to understand the protein function. Understanding the interactions between snapin and SNARE complex is crucial in studying its role in the neurotransmitter release process. We also presented a computational model that shows the interaction between the snapin and SNAP-25 protein, a part of the larger SNARE complex.
A prognostic model for the combined analysis of gene expression profiling in hepatocellular carcinoma.
Microarray techniques using cDNA array and comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) have been developed for several discovery applications. They are frequently applied for the prediction and diagnosis of cancer in recent...
Molecular modelling of the TSR domain of R-spondin 4.
R-spondin 4 is a secreted protein mainly associated with embryonic nail development. R-spondins have been recently identified as heparin-binding proteins with high affinity. Proteoglycan binding has been associated with...
Structural prediction and analysis of VIH-related peptides from selected crustacean species
The tentative elucidation of the 3D-structure of vitellogenesis inhibiting hormone (VIH) peptides is conversely underprivileged by difficulties in gaining enough peptide or protein, diffracting crystals, and numerous ext...
Intergenics: A tool for extraction of intergenicregions.
For the past one decade, there has been considerable explosion of interest in searching novel regulatory elements in the intergenic region between the protein coding regions. The microbial genomes are the most exploited...
In silico Construction of phosphomannose isomerase (PMI) transformation vectors and evaluation of the effectiveness of vectors in tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.)
Phosphomannose isomerase (pmi) gene isolated from Escherichia coli allows transgenic plants carrying it to convert mannose-6-phosphate (from mannose), a carbon source that could not be naturally utilized by plants into f...
