Modern methods of forest inventory: experience of Slovak Republic and possibility for application in Ukraine

Abstract

Present state of forest resources accounting procedures in Slovak Republic and Ukraine was examined. The experience of National Forest Inventory in Slovak Republic was analyzed. The paper contains the principles of sites network building for sampling inventory of Ukrainian forests as well as methodological approaches to data collection efforts. The examples of pilot projects realization for the sampling forest inventory including mobile (field) Field-Map GIS technology were considered.
