MODERN UNDERSTANDING OF SECURITY IN LIGHT OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

Abstract
Nowadays one can observe that the issue of security has been of growing interest, especially since 9/11 attacks. A demand for multifaceted scientific research has increased within a new sub-branch of social science, namely security sociology.The article presents the results of scientific research conducted on a representative group of students from higher education institutions (in this case students from the University of Wrocław and the Military Academy of Land Forces). The research sample was a representative group of young people entering adult life. The researchers attempted to study their understanding of the concept of national security. The results can cast new light on the aspects of national security and contribute to redefining some of the notions.
