MORPHOLOGICAL AND SYNTACTIC FEATURES OF GERMAN-LANGUAGE PROFESSIONAL TEXTS ON INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION
Journal Title: Науковий вісник Херсонського державного університету. Серія «Перекладознавство та міжкультурна комунікація» - Year 2018, Vol 4, Issue 4
Abstract
The development of modern sciences demands a comprehensive approach to studying specialized languages, because the linguistic organization of the text affects the way a recipient understands and perceives the information an author tries to present. There was no clear difference between texts of professional and general use. Professionalism of a text is determined by its features / categories: coherence, informativity, situationalilty, intertextuality. Comparing the compositional structure of German professional texts, it should be noted that the texts both articles and brochures consist of a heading, subtitle, and text. The heading is a relatively autonomous element of the text, which is a reference point in the perception of its conceptual system and contains a semantically shortened text. An analysis of the length of the sentence is considered to be an important aspect of the study of specialized text at the syntactic level. The average length of the sentence was determined in order to further determine the degree of perception based on the scale of L. Reiners, according to which the increase in the number of words in the sentence leads to a worse perception of the text. A frequent use of the noun comparing to other parts of the language in different types of texts belongs to morpholog- ical features of texts. As regards the grammatical aspect, it should be noted following features: the predominant use of the present time, the predicate used in the third person singular, and the use of the passive state. Regarding methods of stylistic syntax, which are used in German texts of industrial, it is worth mentioning the enumeration, nominalization and ellipsis. From the structural point of view, in all the texts of the articles there is a heading, subtitles, and the texts themselves are divided into abstract paragraphs.
