Motivation, Role of Tutor and the Boredom Students with The Application Based Curriculum Competence in Health Science College Kuningan

Abstract

Introduction. PBL (problem based learning) method is applied to the curriculum-based Competence (CBC) is many find constraints among them is the boredom experienced by the students. The aim of the research was to determine the relationship between motivation and the role of tutor to the boredom nursing student in the College of Health Sciences Kuningan. Methods. This study used cross sectional approach. This study was conducted at three levels of students of Nursing in the College of Health Sciences Kuningan. Total samples were 186 peoples. The study was conducted in July-August 2015. Data were analyzed using Spearman rank test. Results. The result of this study found that the motivation to have a meaningful relationship with a student boredom level indicated by the p-value 0.018. While the role of the tutor does not have a direct relationship with the level of boredom that is indicated by the value of p 0.203, but the role of tutor to have a meaningful relationship with the motivation of the students with p – value 0.023. Discussion. Establishment of peer tutors, the formal training to improve the ability of learning pedagogic tutor, understanding of the duties and responsibilities of tutors and tutorial learning governance and the development of student soft skill is an effort that can improve the optimization of the achievement of learning objectives with methods tutorial.
