Motives of the Turkish military intervention in Syria in 2016-2017 (operation "Shield of the Euphrates")

Abstract
The motives of the Turkish military intervention in Syria in 2016–2017 are analyzed. The author argues that the main motive of the Turkish leadership was the desire to eliminate threats to national security, which come from the Syrian conflict.
