Movement Therapy. The Plastic-Cognitive Approach

Abstract

The essay is considered to be an attempt to disclose genesis and meaning of movement in psychotherapy. Exploring the nature of apraxia in “the situation with Schneider”, the role of imagination and reflection in forming conscious movement is also given in the text. Through architectonical links of bodily and ideal concepts the author builds and shows the integral image of movement. As a matter of fact the text proves the idea that trinity “reflection – action - consciousness” corresponds to a model of knowledge of the world. As well analyzing characteristics and typological styles of movement is done for the aims of therapeutic practice
