Research strategies are concentrated on the identification of communication between the themes of Cronopio, sorcery, metamorphoses, music and their interpretation in accordance with originality of authorial consciousness of the Argentinas writer. Reading of authorial codes of Cortázar is presented in accordance with his interpretation of an image of Louis Armstrong in the essay «Louis Armstrong is the huge Cronopio». For the artistic world of the Argentinas writer it is characteristically that the authorial mythologization modifies his real impressions as true admirer of the jazz – from Louis Armstrong’s concert. The jazz in many respects defined style of Cortázar’s prose and feature of artistic thinking and a world vision. J. Cortázar connected origin of the myth about cronopios with Louis Armstrong’s performance in Paris in November, 1952. It is characteristically that J. Cortázar creates the prehistory of cronopios correlated to their inspirer and the brightest representative – the well-known jazzman. In the essay Cortázar sings of the idol of the jazz Armstrong and the atmosphere of his concert. Also latently join in the text details of the personal biography of the author. The above factors give confessionary character to the Cortázar’s essay. In authorial consciousness of J. Cortázar improvisation is the bases of the world of cronopios, by a representative and patron whom is Louis in the essay. This aspect on an equal basis with inclusion in the text of musical motifs allow to correlate the themes of Apocalypse, Orpheus and Angel. For J. Cortázar Louis Aromstronga’s nature as actor and the person, some kind of magician, undoubtedly is conformable to Dionysus. In the essay «Louis Armstrong is the huge Cronopio» Armstrong’s music is given almost magic force. Only cronopios are capable to feel this magic and to like it only cronopios coming to ecstasy and enduring a catharsis. Indicative is correlation of theme of magic with a phenomenon of metamorphoses. The theme of transformation into animals in the Cortázar’s essay is considered at the level of the metaphors, in implication meaning undercover essence of each attendee at a concert. Prospects of further research are opened in respect of identification of theme of metamorphoses as an important dominant of the authorial consciousness by J. Cortázar in the writer's novelistic and essayistics.
