N. STRAKHOV’S CRITICAL MODEL (DIALOGUE WITH THE TEACHER)

Abstract

Statement of a problem. Mainstreaming of N. Strakhov’s heritage is caused by discrepancy of judgments of modern literary critics about him. The name of N. Strakhov didn’t take a due place in system of literary researches. Till nowadays his marks of Russian literary process of the second part of the 19 century are not collected and systematized. His personal critical model isn’t revealed. The aim of research is in making monitoring about philosophical and esthetic and literary positions of the critic. The tasks are in defining of essence of polemic of N. Strakhov with modern to him critics and to define his position in the context of a slavsfeel’s and soil’s critical reflection. Interpretative practice of N. Strakhov developed from the one side under the influence of the Ap. Grigoriev. From the other side it was determined by N. Strakhov’s aspiration to take his outlook position. Because of the above «an anthological meeting» of two types of critical consciousness: soils’ (Ap. Grigoriev) and slavfeels’s (N. Strakhov) is established. N. Strakhov indicated his platform in the Zarya magazine where he conducted critical department in 1869–1871 as slavsfeels’s. Counter with opinions of Ap. Grigoriev, N. Strakhov places the main emphasis on the proof of banality of «theorists» of their isolation from real Russian life. N. Strakhov disproved the point of view of Ap. Grigoriev that literature is a main power which can’t be operated. From here is the rationalistic understanding of art, aspiration to reach the «thought idea» of the product. As a result of making research it is possible to summarize the following. Nigilists, according to N. Strakhov’s opinion, rejected the words any independent ethics and every ethics in general, substituting moral categories with abstract categories of happiness or satisfaction. Paradox from his point of view that in the history of the Russian culture it was time of esthetic, philosophical and religious awakens. The received results caused the following conclusion. Problems which worried N. Strakhov were prompted by time and development of literary process therefore its correction of views of Ap. Grigoriev is quite natural.
