«NATALKA POLTAVKA» BY I.P. KOTLJAREVSKIJ AND «KAZAK-RHYMIST» BY A. A. SHAHOVSKIJ: TYPOLOGICAL SIMILARITY AND INTERTEXTUAL CONNECTIONS

Abstract
In the article the comparative analysis of I. P. Kotlyarevsky’s play Natalka Poltavka (Natalka from Poltava) and A. A. Shakhovkoy’s vaudeville Kazak-Stikhotvorets (Cossak the Poem-writer) is performed. The author of the article establishes the connections between two plays on the level of typological similarities (appealing to common life, performing of the folk songs, colloquial speech, creation of comic characters and situations). The author also observes the intertextual relations between the seventh scene in the second act of I. P. Kotlyarevsky’s play and A. A. Shakhovkoy’s vaudeville.
